500 Biggest and Best distinguish 15 companies

Brisa Operation & Maintenance, a company that operates in the area of ​​safety, comfort and traffic flow on the motorways, was considered the Best Company of 2019 among the 500 Largest (those that had, in the last year, the highest volume of business in the And won in its market, Transport and Logistics.

“BOM, as we call this company, is one of the main responsible for Brisa's operation. It plays a key role in ensuring the safety of our customers, and that is one of the aspects that we highly value, ”said Vasco de Mello, executive president of Brisa, during the award ceremony. "The way it develops this activity has contributed, through innovation and technology, to position Brisa as a reference in terms of efficiency, at an international level," he added.

Two awards were also given in special categories, which highlighted the Biggest and Best Job Creator - attributed to Modelo Continente Hipermercados -, while the award for the Biggest and Best Exporter was awarded to Volkswagen Autoeuropa.

In the 12 awards attributed to each of the markets analyzed, Repsol Gás Natural (Energy and Resources), Celbi (Basic Materials), Roca (Construction and Real Estate), Martifer Construções Metalomechanics (Metalomechanics and Equipment), Porto Editora (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), Rações Valouro (Food, Beverages and Tobacco), Cofemel (Textiles, Clothing and Leather), Continental Mabor (Automobile), L'Oréal (Consumption and Associated Services), Hikma Farmacêutica (Health ), McDonald's Portugal Systems (Tourism, Catering and Leisure) and Teleperformance (Professional Services).

The awarding of the prizes to the winners took place this Tuesday afternoon, in Lisbon, in a ceremony in which Fernando Ulrich, chairman of Banco BPI, was also distinguished with the Excellence in Leadership Award, attributed by EXAME. Tomorrow, Wednesday, EXAME's special magazine dedicated to the 500 Biggest and Best Companies arrives on newsstands, which also has a great interview with Fernando Ulrich.
